So Who Should I Vote For?

Remember, God gave dominion to “them” (Adam and Eve) and not just to “him” (Adam), so they would govern the earth together. Just like the two hemispheres (left and right) of your brain, the Lord ordained this is how life’s decisions should be made. If the Holy Bible gave us the understanding of the masculine (conservative) and feminine (liberal) perspectives, it also has something to say about the kind of direction our nation and our world should take. (This is also true of a family, the Board Room or the PTA meeting). If you are still struggling with any of us receiving instruction from an ancient book, I would again suggest you read our book, “It Really Is God’s Book” to see some amazing facts that prove the validity of the Bible as the only authentic revelation of the one true God.

I must stipulate one caveat here that may irritate some. We need to have God’s Spirit to understand its mysteries. And we only receive His Spirit by surrendering our lives to Jesus Christ. When we encounter the author, the book really makes sense.

The God-given masculine and feminine governing perspectives are good, the wicked forces influencing them are not. There is nothing like choosing a country’s elected leaders that can make a group of people turn into an angry mob. Asking who we will vote for is like asking, who do we want to live with after our parents’ divorce—our mom or our dad? Sadly, the same vindictive hatred and spiteful rhetoric that fills a home about to divorce is filling our nation.

If We Choose the Liberal-Feminine Side of Government (Our Mom), She will…

She will fight for us to have a decent minimum wage. She will fight for our artistic rights and our freedom of expression (she still has our drawings that used to hang on the refrigerator). She will fight for school lunches. She will make corporations put seat belts and air bags along with child seats in our cars. She will courageously fight for justice for the poor who have been falsely convicted because they couldn’t afford a good lawyer.

If we do commit a crime and become imprisoned, she will fight to get us educated and she will fight to get us rehabilitated so we will have the skills to work when we get out. She will also work with the disadvantaged and disenfranchised among us to obtain health care for their family so their medical bills won’t bankrupt their family, leaving them on the streets.

She will fight to protect the environment we live in from over-development and pollution that can cause all manner of sickness and disease.  She will protect our rights from the big corporate monopolies that would like to have a permanent underclass of cheap labor. She will insist that the nations we do business with overseas also have the same worker’s rights and protections we do, so that our nation will be morally consistent here and abroad. She will compassionately reach out and welcome any immigrant coming to America in search of a better life for their family. She will always find a way to make the food in her pantry to feed those in her home. Don’t you just love mom? She will remind us that Jesus commands us to reach out to the poor and the powerless.

If We Choose the Conservative-Masculine Side of Government (Our Dad), He will…

He will fight to keep ever growing big government from taking our rights and freedoms by micro managing every aspect of our life. He will make sure mom doesn’t “smother” us with well intentioned but hurtful “mothering” programs. He will fight to keep wasteful bureaucracies from making us work 6 months out of the year for the government before we earn money for our own family. He knows that the bigger government gets, the smaller the freedoms of the individual become. He will courageously defend the founding principles that have made this country the greatest, most free and prosperous nation in human history. He will fight the false utopia of socialism and communism that enslaves millions around the world. He will provide a safe haven for the desperate multitudes seeking to escape those oppressive countries. He will provide us with a strong military and a strong police force to ensure peace and safety of our family and our nation.

He will make sure career criminals are locked away so they can never harm innocent people again. He will fight the sickening horror of the killing of innocent unborn and newly born children, even if mom says its her right to do so. He will fight to rid America of drugs in the streets as well as drugs in the classroom prescribed by misguided educators afraid of disciplining children. He will fight the censorship of the “cancel culture” promoted by universities and the media who seek to remove Judeo-Christian values from our schools. He will remind the feminine perspective that there just isn’t enough money to fund all their compassion projects. He will remind us that our freedoms come from God and not the government. He will remind us that the government should not be the god we look to, but rather we should look to the God of heaven and earth to be our provider. Don’t you just love dad? He will remind us that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and no one, comes to the Father except through Him.

So Who Will You Vote For?

Every voting cycle in a nation, the population unconsciously selects these masculine and feminine perspectives to govern themselves. Unbeknownst to our political parties is that they are actually vetting who they think is the most Male/conservative and the most Female/liberal candidate. Politicians often swing so far left or right trying to prove themselves to their perspective party, that it is difficult to get them to be intimate with the other side after the election. Yet this is needed so they can produce healthy political decisions/offspring for the nation. Due to ungodliness, this seems to be more difficult for all of us with each election. Both political wings seem to have forgotten, the wings exist for the bird in the middle.

Our system seems to be hijacked by unseen evil forces, rendering well meaning intelligent people unable to bring new solutions. There are many indicators of a conspiracy to bring about the demise of our nation with its freedoms and liberties. The Bible is the only “holy book” that accurately pulls back the veil on these unseen malevolent spirits and how we can defeat them. The Scriptures also teaches the discerning how to bring meaningful solutions from between the male side and female side of our politics.

Some say we have lost access to heaven’s discernment because both sides have lost a healthy fear of God. Having counseled many estranged couples, I can say those who humble themselves before God and each always discover new ways to become reconciled. Some in our nation have asked God to leave our public dialogue and institutions so we are left with carnal people devoid of godly wisdom making life and death decisions for the country. With no absolutes, our leaders have been trying to build our society using different tape measures; no wonder the national building is teetering.

It is increasingly more difficult each year to vote for any of the political parties because they both ignored or abused biblical values. Many find themselves voting for a person they don’t endorse… but for a philosophical direction they think the country should go. It’s more about the policies, not the personalities.

As a Christ follower, I must vote the Bible. I am obligated to support those leaders who are not hostile and antagonistic to the preaching of the Gospel and the advancement of the kingdom of God…“here on earth, as it is in heaven”.  We need both perspectives working together for our nation, our City Hall, the PTA, the homeowners Association and our families. I pray mom and dad will get back together again and conceive new solutions.
